Who: Harry, Louis, Hazel, and Kiara (Featuring, anyone who attended the vow renewal)
Where: Barbican Conservatory
When: Monday, April 28, 2014 - Evening.
Hazza
Harry had been looking foreward to it all day, it wasn’t like he had been planning this for an impossibly long time for him or anything… But he had. So when the time finally came and he managed to get himself dressed up and convinced Louis to get dressed up, saying it was for a formal dinner, he was overjoyed. The car ride wasn’t too long, and for that he was grateful. “I promise it’s more impressive on the inside.” He had insisted, referring to the rather dull looking building, before leading Louis inside. They were nearing the door to the conservatory when Harry stopped, “Wait here for just a second, okay?” He requested, pressing a little kiss to Louis’ cheek before hurrying towards the door so he could see if everything was ready.
Tommo
Louis had been complaining about the amount of dressing up he had to do. But like with anything he humored the other boy to the best of his abilities. He was way too confused for his own good by the time they came to their destination, ‘cause he didn’t recognize a thing. He honestly thought they were going to dinner, maybe at Rosso’s. "Well, now I’m just stumped,“ he threw his arms up in defeat. "And I’m being abandoned,” he responded to the instruction. But he stayed put, craning his neck to try and look around the best he could.
Hazel Smith
Hazel had been hard at work, with the help of a few others, all day. And now that the time was finally there, she was probably more excited than she should have been. When Harry appeared in the doorway, she had to stop herself from jumping in excitement, since that would have been a bad idea with Sophie secured in her arms. “Are you ready? Does he know? Should we get things started, or do you want to warn him first?” She asked, waiting for instruction.
Hazza
“It’s going to be great, trust me.” Harry insisted, laughing when Louis claimed he was being abandoned. He was through the door in no time. “He doesn’t really have a clue.” He told Hazel with a laugh, waving to Sophie when she noticed him. He reached for her, taking her into his arms and gesturing to hold on before stepping back through the door with her, holding it open just slightly so Hazel could hear the exchange to let it answer her questions. “See, told you your children were safe.” He said with a laugh, “Are you ready for your present? I’m thinking we should get that over with before dinner.”
Tommo
“Sophie!” he close the gap quickly trying to take her, it hadn’t even been a full day. He acted like it been years. “Is this my present? It’s a very pretty present,” he nodded when looking over the fact she seem to be dressed pretty formal herself. He was looking towards the building, “I’m not trusting you in the least bit right now, but I’m hungry. So, let’s get whatever this is over with,” he gestured for him to lead the way with a skeptical look.
Hazel Smith
Hazel waited patiently as Harry disappeared back through the door. When she heard Louis answer, she took the initiative to pull the door open, blocking the view of the room behind her. “She’s part of your present, but you can’t have her yet. She has to go for a walk before she gets to spend time with Daddy.” She told Louis, taking Sophie from Harry and ducking back into the room, “Everything’s ready, We’ll start things up when you get in here.”
Hazza
Harry had opened his mouth to reply to Louis’ question when Hazel appeared, her answer causing him to give Louis a look that read there was n arguing with Hazel. Even though he was full aware of what was planned. “Thanks, Haze.” He said as she disappeared. He then pushed open the door for Louis, revealing a small standing room that was adorned with all sorts of plants. Just a foreshadowing of the room beyond. “Gotta let Soph’ go first. It’s only traditional.” He told Louis, though still failing to explain what was going on. Although at that moment, the traditional music started that should have been a dead giveaway.
Tommo
“Where’s the other one? Why do people keep taking my children away,” he called out, all in dramatics. He wasn’t being the list bit seriousl. “Do I get a clue at all as to what is going on? I feel like i should just be drunk,” he commented as he headed into the door. Eyes darting around to his surrounding, “What are you going on about? It’s like the start of some shit story,” he shot Harry an affectionate little smile. Then he heard the music and he wasn’t stupid, it all clicked. His immediate reaction was to punch Harry square in the arm.
Hazel Smith
“He’s waiting for food, just like everyone else, so stop asking questions and go along with it.” Hazel had responded to the question about Peter. She took Harry’s comment as a cue to signal for the music to start, setting Sophie down and making sure that she had her balance for the most part. “Like you did earlier, Soph’” She told the baby, “Please don’t kill each other, that would ruin everything. You know how long to wait, right?” She asked, though didn’t really wait for an answer before she was leading Sophie through the door to walk her down the isle with mostly failed attempts at getting Sophie to throw the flowers from a little basket that was just about her size.
Hazza
Harry whined rather loudly with the contact to his arm, swatting at him in return, though his attempt wasn’t really even much contact. He smiled as Sophie was set down, “Make sure someone’s getting pictures or a video. I want to see that later.” He insisted, nodding to her question, even though it didn’t seem like she was actually paying attention, before he turned his attention to Louis. “I figured, the traditional method is groom stands at the alter, bride walks down the isle… But neither of us are a bride, and we’ve always done things together up til now, so side by side?” He explained with a little smile, extending an arm to Louis, “You did say you wanted a proper wedding ceremony. It’s a year late, but better late than never?”
Tommo
“You deserve that,” he defended himself against the whining. He drew his fist back like he was about to do it again, but dropped his hand about an inch from doing so. He was watching after Sophie with the silliest grin on his face as he bit at a finger. “If you had put me in the bride spot, we’d have to have a talk,” he explained, which was his own way of agreeing with Harry’s logic. “I can’t honestly believe you did this,” he said in a state of awe with a shake of his head. “Do I get the cake too or am I pushing it?” he teased, linking his arm with Harry’s.
Hazza
Harry whined once more in response to that, but was distracted with the sigt of Sophie as she disappeared through the door. “Wouldn’t do that.” He insisted with a shake of his head. All through the planning that was something he had been adamant on, was that it be something that was treated with equality between them. He pressed another kiss to Louis’ cheek, leading him towards the door, “There’s a cake, and sandwiches, and all sorts of cute little snacks. Went all out with full catering.” He responded with a grin. “Just like a real ceremony, but without the gifts, really.” He added, before pushing the door open to make their entrance.
Tommo
Louis apologized for the punch by giving a rub to his arm. “Good, I don’t want to hear any shit blushing bride jokes or being asked where my dress is,” he could just hear someone saying something. He leaned his head into the kiss before stealing a quik on to Harry’s cheek. “All I hear is cake. I won’t make you repropose to me,” he offered with a laugh. Course it wouldn’t even be reproposing, 'cause Louis had done that to begin with. He kept close to Harry’s side taking in a deep breath. “I never needed the gifts anyway,” he stated.
Kiara.
As the doors opened and Harry and Louis walked through, a genuine smile grew on Kiara’s face. She got to her feet, crossing the front of the room as discreetly as possible to find her place at the front of the room. It was one of those rare occasions where she didn’t look like something that had jumped out of the Addam’s Family, and she wasn’t in the business of drawing attention to that. A little gesture with her hand beckoned them foreward, pulling a face to say that they were moving too slow. That was typical Kiara for you though.
Hazza
Harry laughed with Louis’ comment about the cake, shooting him a look. “You proposed to begin with, I couldn’t repropose.” He pointed out, deciding that sounded logical even if it probably wasn’t even close.“ He pulled a face when Kiara gestured for them to hurry up, picking up the pace slightly and leaning over to speak to Louis again, "Figured the 'minister’ could be as unconventional as the rest of the ceremony. She says she has good ideas though.” He explained as they headed along the isle.
Tommo
“Still should make you propose though,” he muttered, more than anything it would have been an attempt to give him a hard time. He didn’t really take notice as to who the minister was until Harry was pointing it out. “Oh my god,” he mouthed, because honestly that was the very last person he expected to see in such a position. “I have officially entered the twilight zone,” he voiced his comment once they reached the end of the isle, just so he had been in Kiara’s ear shot.
Kiara.
Patience wasn’t Kiara’s strong suite, but she would try, considering that rushing things in a process as important as this one would probably be considered rude. When the two came nearer and she heard Louis’ comment though, she reached out as if she was going to smack him, but missing by a long shot. “Smack you into the twilight zone.” She countered. “Are you two ready, or did you want to carry on your conversation, because I don’t know how long everyone’s going to wait.” She said as she opened the little notepad she clung to, opting not to actually wait for an answer, clearing her throat before she spoke up, adressing the crowd of friends and family first of all. “Any other time, this is a moment where I would explain that we are gathered here today to observe the beginning of two lives being joined as one,” She started, “But what we have here is something far more magical. Harry and Louis Tomlinson-Styles, have invited you all to be a part of the celebration of a life lived in mutual happiness thus far, and the promise of something that will last for many years to come.” She looked towards the two men before her with a smile as she finished that, speaking quieter, “You ready?” and this time, she waited for an answer before she would continue.
Hazza
Harry held his breath to stifle a laugh at the little exchange between Louis and Kiara. Letting go of Louis’ arm, his hand sought out the other’s, lacing their fingers together and giving a little squeeze. He had to admit, he was pretty impressed with the opening that Kiara had, and was pretty sure that his expression read as such. He glanced over his shoulder towards the people in the seats briefly before he was turning his head back, nodding at the question, “Couldn’t be more ready.” He responded with a bright smile.
Tommo
It was absolutely ludicrous for him to have any bit of nerves going, but he did. They were finally getting their ceremony and that in itself was a bit overwhelming, if he was honest. He was playing with Harry’s hands the moment their finger laced together. “I think I need to go back and think about this,” he replied before following it with a nod to gesture he was more than ready.
Kiara.
“This one’s not ready, we’re gonna have to postpone.” Kiara joked, gesturing to Louis. But even as she said that, she was flipping the page in her notebook to the reading that had been the only part she had been requested to incorporate, speaking to the crowd and to the two before her this time. “The future belongs to hearts even more than it does to minds. Love, that is the only thing that can occupy and fill eternity. In the infinite, the inexhaustible is requisite. Love participates of the soul itself. It is of the same nature. Like it, it is the divine spark; like it, it is incorruptible, indivisible, imperishable. It is a point of fire that exists within us, which is immortal and infinite, which nothing can confine, and which nothing can extinguish. We feel it burning even to the very marrow of our bones, and we see it beaming in the very depths of heaven…” Her attention fell to Harry as she finished that reading, “Do you, Harry Tomlinson-Styles, promise to continue to nurture that spark, the one ignited by Louis, for as long as your mortal, or immortal as it may be, souls continue to exist?”
Hazza
Harry was all smiles as the ceremony seemed to be taking off without a hitch. They had been married for a year already, but he felt as if this was their initial wedding day all over again, and he was pretty sure that nothing could bring him down. His thumb trailed over the back of Louis’ hand gently as he listened to the reading. He didn’t hesistate when the question was turned to him, looking towards Louis with a loving smile and nodding, “I do."
Kiara.
Kiara smiled happily as Harry responded, fairly certain that this would go down as one of the few times she actually let her emotions show. But it seemed fitting. She nodded once then her attention was on Louis, repeating an altered version of what she had asked only moments before, "And do you, Louis Tomlinson-Styles, promise to continue to nurture that spark, the one ignited by Harry, for as long as your mortal, or immortal as it may be, souls continue to exist?"
Tommo
Louis initially started out with eyes on Kiara, having to give a roll of his eyes with her playing back against his statement. But when she began to recite the words he completely focused in on Harry. He wouldn’t change a thing about how they initially did anything, but he was more than happy they got this oppurtunity. He got those sickening butterflies in his stomach to hear those words again from Harry. All too eagerly waiting for his turn, that it was no surprise he was bouncing in place a bit. That when it was his turn he replied a little loudly, "Yes!” but quickly caught himself, “I mean, I do,” he finished with a sheepish grin. He had to steal one of his hands back to wipe underneath his eyes.
Kiara.
It wasn’t like she actually thought there would be a negative response, but when Louis responded the way he did, Kiara raised a hand to cover her mouth to stifle her laughter. “Little excited, are we?” She questioned. Her attention turned back to the notebook once more, then to them. “When you were married, there was an exchanging of rings as a promise of your love for one another. Today, as you re-dedicate yourselves to your marriage, you have the opportunity to bless your rings and renew that promise. May I see your rings, please?” She questioned, holding out a hand for that.
Hazza
Harry’s smile only grew with Louis’ response, giving his hand a little squeeze as he stifled a laugh, having to resist the urge to press another kiss to his cheek at that moment. “Cute.” He murmured with a fond tone and a glance over to him. He nodded with the request for the rings, removing his own and placing it in Kiara’s hand, then doing the same for Louis’, passing that over to her as well.
Kiara.
Kiara took the rings when they were handed to her, “The rings are a symbol of endless love for one another, and this re-exchanging is to symbolize the continuation of that. If you could please,” She paused, passing Harry’s ring over to Louis and Louis’ to Harry, “Place the ring on your husband’s finger and request that he continue to wear it as a symbol of your marriage."
Hazza
Harry nodded as Kiara explained, relenting his grip in Louis’ hand and taking the ring when it was handed to him. He reached for the other’s hand, looking towards him as he slid the ring back on his finger. "I love you, Louis, and I ask that you continue to wear this ring as a symbol of our marriage.” He requested, unable to resis the urge to press a little kiss to the back of Louis’ hand before letting go.
Tommo
“Of course, babe. Unless of course one day I actually do dishes and it falls off down the drain, ” it wouldn’t be their ceremony, if he didn’t reply in true Louis fashiion. Stilfing a quiet laugh about it. He was taking Harry’s ring to place back on his finger, giving it a playful little twist to make sure it stuck good. “I love you, Harry, and you’re going to stay stuck with this ring so long as you’re stuck with me,” he beamed with a bright smile. Not wanting to just repeat the same words, that’s just not how they worked.
Kiara.
It was probably a good thing that Kiara didn’t actually expect normalcy from the two before her, because anyone else in her shoes probably would have walked away. “You two are hopeless.” She breathed, though the phrase was intended in the most endeared manner she was capable of. “Congratulations, your vows are renewed, you’re still married, and your guests won’t starve to death. You may now kiss the…” She hesitated, a look of realization dawning on her features, “I didn’t plan this part. Just kiss so we can eat.” She said with a laugh.
Hazza
Harry was still trying not to laugh at Louis’ response, when Kiara spoke her final words, which were enough to actually get a laugh out of him. “You were doing so well. What happened?” He asked, shaking his head in amusement. He then turned to Louis, reaching one hand up to cup the side of his face gently as he leaned in to press their lips together in a tender kiss, smiling into it.
Tommo
Louis was only provoked by Kiara’s choice to finish the ceremony, by having to let go of Harry’s hands to actually applaud her. “That was absolutely… I’m choked up. At a loss for words actually, so touching.” He was quickly returning his attention to Harry when he was guided into the kiss, full out smiling against his lips. There was a light jab to Harry’s side cause he still deserved it, “Love you, babe,” he mouthed just for him to hear.
Hazza
Harry squeaked with the jab to his side, jumping a little and squirming as he reached to swat at Louis’ arm lightly. “Love you too.” He responded almost silently with a little laugh and a fond smile, running his fingers through Louis’ hair affectionately before glancing towards Kiara, “Want to dismiss the hungry creatures?” He asked with a laugh.
Kiara.
Kiara had completely given up the attempts to try and hide her smile a long time ago. And that showed even more so at that exchange. When Harry addressed her again, she nodded. “Ladies and gentlemen,” She spoke up, resuming her somewhat authoritative tone from before, “I present to you, for the second time - Harry and Louis Tomlinson-Styles.” She clapped once in a happy manner, “And now, if you all want to follow the bridge over there,” She pointed, “You’ll find yourself in the reception room. Help yourself to some food… But if you touch the cake before these two get to it, this will turn from a wedding to a massacre."
